Perez returned to the side as the Foxes thumped Sheffield United
5-0 in the Premier League.
City, who are third, will still be without injured attacking
starlets James Maddison and Harvey Barnes.
The pair have scored 11 and 13 goals respectively this term
in all competitions.
But Perez reckons Leicester's new-look attack of Jamie Vardy
and Kelechi Iheanacho up top with himself in the hole behind is a nightmare for
defenders.
The trio linked up to devastating effect against the Blades
as they all combined for Iheanacho's first goal in his hat-trick.
Perez also notched himself with a blistering finish and
Vardy forced Ethan Ampadu into an own goal.
Spaniard Perez, 27, said: “We are in a great position and we
are pushing and fighting to stay there.
"We played really well trying to find each other.
“It’s hard for defenders because I can receive it between
the lines, they (Vardy and Iheanacho) are pinning the centre-backs, then as
soon as any of us can turn, we are running in behind, so it’s not easy for the
defenders.
“We have pace and we have quality.
“It’s about the understanding with each other. We did really
well and created a lot of chances.”
Perez's goal was just his third this term but Vardy has 14
and Iheanacho now has 11.
Leicester's goal difference surpasses Chelsea’s and all of
the clubs behind Rodgers’ men in the Premier League.
Perez added: “In your head, the main thing is to win but
then when you get into a position where you score a couple of goals, and you
realise you have the chance to score more, you need the hunger to keep going.”
