Manchester City and Real Madrid have ‘positioned themselves’ to acquire Erling Haaland’s services this summer, and they also ‘have the money ready’ to formalise the transfer, according to reports from Sport Witness.
Borussia Dortmund may be keen to sell the
Norwegian before the end of next season, as they look to cash in on Haaland
before his release clause of a reported €70 million kicks.
The Bundesliga club feel that they can get
nearly 50% more of a fee this summer, with many of Europe’s top clubs
interested.
Manchester City have made it clear that
they will prioritise a striker during the summer, with Sergio Aguero’s contract
coming to an end at the end of the current season.
While there have been rumblings that the
Etihad hierarchy may not be willing to work with Erling Haaland’s notorious
agent Mino Raiola, recent reports claim that the strained relationship between
the club and the ‘super agent’ will not be a problem.
Recent reports have suggested that Haaland
is not interested in the amount of money offered to him, and that his decision
on which club to sign for will come down to the ambition of the sporting
project on offer.
As a result of the aforementioned factor,
Manchester City have emerged as the frontrunners in the race to sign the 20
year-old.
