Lewandowski hits 13th hat-trick as Bayern whip Stuttgart

The Bayern Munich striker hit his thirteen Bundesliga hat-trick as they ran riot against Stuttgart in the first-half of their clash on Saturday.

Incredibly, Bayern managed to score four goals after Alphonso Davies was dismissed in the 12th minute at the Allianz Arena.

Lewandowski got three of them, and did it in style too with a goal from his left foot, right foot and head to complete a perfect hat-trick… in just 22 minutes.

This latest treble came after the Polish striker also hit three past former club Borussia Dortmund earlier this month.

Lewandowski now has 35 goals in just 26 matches this season, backing claims he is the best goalscorer in world football right now.

He is on track to be a front runner for the Ballon d’Or, the most coveted individual prize in football and one he was desperately unfortunate not to win last year as it was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Lewandowski’s treble against Stuttgart means he is now just five goals off equalling Gerd Muller’s record for the most goals scored in a single top flight season in Germany.

Germany icon Muller hit 40 in the 1971/72 campaign and Lewandowski has eight matches left of the season to emulate that feat.

His hat-trick also means he has scored 40-plus goals in all competitions for the six season in a row.

But he will surely be wary as Erling Haaland, who netted twice for Dortmund against Koln on Saturday to take his tally to 21 goals this season, has many years ahead to catch-up if he doesn’t move abroad.
