£8m rated Oliseh advised to snub Liverpool for Leeds Utd

Leeds United should have no trouble beating Tottenham and Liverpool to the signing of Reading playmaker Michael Olise, according to Noel Whelan.

The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested several factors could work in the Whites’ favour this summer.

As revealed by Football Insider, Leeds are planning on triggering the 19-year-old’s £8million release clause this summer.

However, the Whites face competition from the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal for the left-footed playmaker.

Olise has been a standout performer for Reading this season, with five goals and 10 assists under his belt in 35 Championship appearances.

Despite some big names in the hunt for the Royals starlet, Whelan insisted his old side could beat them to his capture.

He suggested regular game time and the potential moving forward could swing things in Leeds’ favour.

Asked if Leeds could tempt Olise to sign ahead of their rivals, Whelan told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge: “Yeah, I think so. You look at the style of play, the way we bring young players through. The fact that Kalvin Phillips has broken into the England squad – all this.

“The fact that we’ve got a great team ethic, relationship and bond between the players, you can see that. Why would you not want to?
