Cristiano Ronaldo compares himself to GOD

The Portugal captain splits opinion with many but claims the negative opinions of others don't keep him awake at night

Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates his second goal Vain and arrogant? Cristiano Ronaldo isn't the most popular footballer of all time
Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed he was "made to be the best" and believes his vast success is partly down to his vanity and arrogance.

The Real Madrid and Portugal star splits opinion with general football fans as well as a minority of supporters of his own club.

He was jeered by sections of the Bernabeu during the Spanish club's 3-1 win over Real Sociedad, despite netting twice in the victory.

And the 30-year-old believes some people don't warm to him simply because they're jealous of his achievements.

"There are people out there who hate me and who say I'm arrogant, vain and whatever. That's all part of my success. I am made to be the best," Ronaldo told Mundo Deportivo.

"We cannot live being obsessed with what other people think about us. It's impossible to live like that. Not even God managed to please the entire world.

"I have a clear conscience. I sleep well. I feel good helping others, regardless of whether that's with big things or small things. I look at life differently ever since I became a father.

"I can deal with the pressure because of the difficult life I have had. The person I am now is the result of the time I spent without my family and because of the difficult times I went through.

"I was ironing my own clothes when I was 11 years old. My mental strength goes back to those days.

"If this is what I am, if everything I've achieved in football has been for this, I couldn't possibly ask for anything else. If you offer me an improvement, I'd accept it, but change is very complicated."

Earlier this week, Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes revealed he expects Ronaldo to retire at Real Madrid, dealing a blow to potential suitors Manchester United and PSG.

Ronaldo buys his mum a Porsche for her birthday

Today (31st December 2016) is birthday of Cristiano Ronaldo’s mum, and the Real Madrid star has splashed out the cash on an incredible gift for the most important woman in his life.

Dolores Aveiro has uploaded pictures onto her Instagram account revealing how her son bought her a new car for her special day.

And not just any car: a classic looking white Porsche.

Dolores made sure to tell her followers that Cristiano bought her the gift on her social media page.

Having finished 2015 with a brace for Real Madrid in a 3-1 win over Real Sociedad yesterday, Cristiano is reportedly heading to North Africa for New Year’s Eve.

Hence he’s not with his mum on her special day.

Portuguese tabloid Correio da Manha claim to have the inside scoop on Ronaldo’s party plans for tonight, and in a surprise to no one, Ronaldo is tipped to head back to Morocco to bring in 2016.

Ronaldo is bringing his Los Blancos strike partner Karim Benzema to Morocco too.

Ronaldo and Benzema will touch down on Thursday as they travel on Cristiano’s private jet, while it’s claimed Ronaldo will stay in the royal suite in The Pearl hotel in Marrakech, at a cost of 3200 euros per night.

Ibrahimovic: I won't quit PSG in January

Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed that he would not be interested in a move away from the French champions in January.

Ibrahimovic, 34, is out of contract with PSG in June and this week he refused to rule out the possibility of moving to Qatar when his current deal expires.

In recent months the Sweden captain has discussed switching to Major League Soccer but he believes it is "too late" for him to transfer to the Premier League.

PSG manager Laurent Blanc said this week that he does not expect too much movement in the January transfer window and Ibrahimovic has now dismissed talk that that he could make a premature exit from the French capital.

"I have good relations with PSG and I have no intention of leaving the club," he said after the Ligue 1 leaders' 1-0 friendly win over Inter Milan in Doha on Wednesday.

No Barca move for Pogba, insists Raiola

The Juventus star's agent has played down the chances of the Frenchman leaving Turin, though expects "the big clubs" to make moves this summer for a player who will cost €100m

Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has dismissed speculation that Barcelona are the runaway favourites to sign the Juventus midfielder at the end of the season, though is expecting interest to heat up next summer.

The France star has a contract with Juve until June 2019, but clubs such as Barca, Manchester City and Chelsea are all believed to be interested in signing him.

Spanish and European champions Barca were thought to be in pole position for Pogba, but Raiola claims that is not necessarily the case and reiterated his belief that the Frenchman will cost at least €100 million (£73m).

"The big clubs will come knocking for Paul again at the end of the season. I don't know how much chance Juventus have of holding on to him," he told Tuttosport.

"Paul will make a decision based on the offers he receives and based on how he feels. He was in a similar situation last summer.

"Are Barcelona in pole position to sign him? The only team ahead of the others is Juventus. Paul has a strong connection with Juve. Paul is the type of guy who thinks things through and he thinks with his heart. He felt that it was not the right moment to leave last summer and he was right.

"He stayed put and overcame his initial difficulties, when the fans jeered him and treated him unfairly. It did not bother Paul, but I did not like it. But it will not affect Paul's decision at the end of the season.

"The fact that Paul decided to stay with Juventus last summer shows that he has invested in Juventus. And the Juventus hierarchy has also invested a lot by opting not to cash in on Paul. Paul is like a limited edition Ferrari, there are only a few who can afford him.

"I don't think €100m will be enough to sign him, but it depends on [Juventus president Andrea] Agnelli. He has grown as a player and his price will have grown as well."

The 25-year-old will decide his future at the end of the season and the German club have no intention of selling they player midway through the campaign

Dortmund are also planning to extend Gundogan’s contract, which expires in 2017, but the Germany international will decide his future at the end of the campaign.

Should Gundogan refuse to sign a new contract, Dortmund will be open to a potential sale with Juventus currently leading the chase. Barcelona, Arsenal Manchester United have also been linked with the midfielder.

Arsenal's Debuchy seeks Emirates exit

Mathieu Debuchy has asked to leave Arsenal after speaking with manager Arsene Wenger, according to reports.

While speaking to the media on Wednesday, Wenger admitted that an exit from the Emirates Stadium could be on the cards for the right-back, as rumours circulate suggesting that he is unhappy at a lack of first-team opportunities.

The 30-year-old lost his starting place to youngster Hector Bellerin in the second half of last season and is reportedly concerned that a lack of regular playing time could lead to his omission from France’s Euro 2016 squad.

The French international, an £11million signing from Newcastle United in 2014, has only made seven appearances for Arsenal across all competitions this season, last appearing in the Premier League against Tottenham Hotspur in early November.

“It's not impossible Debuchy will leave,” Wenger said on Wednesday, prior to his side’s trip to play the right back’s former club this weekend. “I happy for him to stay, but we'll see.”

Osaze regrets 2013 madness over QPR move

Stoke City striker Peter Odemwingie has regretted his actions in January 2013 when he tried to force a move to Queens Park Rangers while still on the books of West Brom.

The Nigeria international drove from Birmingham to London thinking that an agreement had been reached between the two clubs but Queens Park Rangers did not allow him enter the club premises.

“I didn’t even know what to think; I was laughing and almost crying at the same time! I believed it was done, I had nothing to hide, ” Odemwingie said to Sky Sports.

“When the cameras came, I didn’t feel awkward to say “yes, this is where we are”. Unless you see it on paper nothing is done, so that’s why I said it’s a 90 per cent done deal.

“They (West Brom players) were confused a bit and they knew I believed the deal was done. But then it was tough of course with the fans.”

Odemwingie fell out of favour with the Baggies coach after the move to QPR fell through and made only seven appearances off the bench before transferring to Cardiff City in summer 2013.

Emenike, Ebuka and friends

“It’s absolutely unacceptable and disgusting for some people to sit down somewhere and be using my name to defraud poor people,” said Emenike.

“More than three cases from my friend calling my brother to confirm if I am really involved in the money or football contracts. I am not an agent and I don’t get myself involve in those sh****t, so I see no reason why my name should be using for fraud. I have reported to the proper channel and very soon the offenders shall be exposed.”

His brother Ebuka said: “We don’t know those are behind the scene, but on behalf of our family, we don’t know anything about it. My brother is a footballer, he’s not an agent, and he’s rich enough than to be sending mail to people for money or to partner any business.”

Joel Obi Undergoing Individual Training

Torino coach Giampiero Ventura is sweating on the fitness of Joel Obi ahead of the meeting with Napoli in a week’s time.

Ahead of the week 18 tie at the Stadio San Paolo , The Maroons held a training session on Tuesday but the Nigeria international did not practice with the rest of the squad.

Instead, Joel Obi , who is recovering from a hamstring complaint, underwent individual training under the supervision of the coach staff.

The attacking midfielder, 24, has not featured for Torino for over three months, with his last appearance coming against Palermo on September 27, when he lasted only 22 minutes on the pitch.

The former Inter Milan player has managed only 94 minutes of game time in all competitions since the season began.

Mikel tells Chelsea fans: Don't expect miracles

Struggling champions Chelsea may not have set the Premier League alight under interim manager Guus Hiddink but the mood in the dressing room has definitely improved since his arrival, midfielder John Obi Mikel has said.

Chelsea turned to Hiddink again earlier this month to guide them out of a woeful campaign under Jose Mourinho this season, a spell that saw them fall to 16th place and within a point off relegation.

Hiddink had a caretaker spell in charge of the Blues in 2009 after Brazilian Luiz Felipe Scolari departed.

"We have moved on and the atmosphere has improved since the change of manager," Mikel told British media. "Jose is a fantastic manager, but sometimes football is a cruel game and you have to move on.

"He came back to the club a second time and won two trophies but now he is gone. Is it the right decision? We will only see in the future."

The Nigerian is one of few players, along with defenders John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic, who were at the club during Hiddink's previous period in charge, when the Dutch manager led them to an FA Cup win.

"He (Hiddink) hasn't changed much yet, but he was here before and he knows the place and all the staff," Mikel said.

"We are down there in the table for a reason so he can not come in and perform miracles.
"We have had three games now without losing, so (we) are making the right steps."
Mikel, who got limited game-time under Mourinho making just two starts in five league appearances, could not explain Chelsea's meek title defence this season.

"It is difficult when you are not playing, as you do not really know what the problems are," Mikel added.
"I was not playing that much under Mourinho. It was a collective thing - the players and the manager were not performing."

Chelsea, currently 14th in the table with 20 points, travel to Crystal Palace on Sunday, hoping to register their first win under Hiddink. Palace are fifth, having gone six games without defeat.

Onazi set to dump Lazio

Former Super Eagles striker Ayo Makinwa, who is now an intermediary,  has warned Lazio that his client Eddy Onazi may look else where as soon as January transfer window opens due to his lack of first team opportunities at the Serie A club.

The central midfielder has appeared only five times in the Italian top - flight in the ongoing season and was an unused substitute in the Biancocelesti’s last two matched against Sampdoria and Inter Milan despite his return to full fitness.

“Eddy is fine now, he had a minor injury. He suffered a muscle strain in the national team, was out ten days. He returned immediately after the match against Saint Etienne, ” Makinwa told LaLazioSiamoNoi.it.

“We need to talk with the club, we want clarification. There are clubs who want him, we’re talking about a guy who has already racked up 39 appearances for Nigeria, who in 2014 played as a starter at the World Cup in in Brazil.”

The former Lazio striker added : “ He is wanted both in Italy and abroad. For him it would not be a problem finding another team. If the situation were to continue to be this, then we must find a solution.

“The possibility of a sale could also materialize. When a player does not feel important or does not feel the trust, it is easier than not unable to play and give what you would like.”

Eddy Onazi, who is under contract with Lazio until the summer of 2018, attracted interest from the English Premier League after the 2014 World Cup but a transfer never materialized.

Ighalo tells Chelsea players to be humble

Nigeria international Odion Ighalo has warned the Premier League’s top clubs to take Watford seriously, as they prepare to inflict more damage on Chelsea’s season.

Watford travel to Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day just one point adrift of the Champions League places — and 10 above the struggling champions.

Ighalo’s two goals against Liverpool yesterday helped Watford crush Jurgen Klopp’s  team 3-0 at Vicarage Road and made it four consecutive wins for the Hornets. Ighalo has now  scored 12 times in the Premier League this term. The Nigerian said: “They will have more respect for us and treat us not as a team who has just gained promotion but one who has been playing in the Premier League for a long time.

“I see the team working hard for each other, running for each other, fighting for every ball and I’m not surprised any more at how well we have been playing. We can cause more upsets if we keep going like this. It’s not going to be easy at Chelsea because all their players will want to impress the new manager [Guus Hiddink] and it will be a massive game but anything can happen. We have to push ourselves.” In such an unusual season, Watford supporters could be forgiven for dreaming of European football.

They have just four points fewer than Manchester City, who were third ahead of tonight’s clash with second-placed Arsenal, and one fewer than Tottenham and Manchester United.

Yet Ighalo claimed Watford were still worrying about relegation. He added: “We’re not thinking about European football. We’re not safe yet and we’re still looking for 12 more points to be safe in the Premier League next season. Our main aim is to fight relegation. We will be happy to get to 40 points and we will be thankful for anything that comes after that.”

Boasting a swanky round table, the room is of significant importance for Real's No 7 - with diet and nutrition a key to his success.
'The second or third most important place to me is the place where I eat - where I have my lunch and dinners because most of the times I eat at home,' he says.

'My chefs cook unbelievably for me, this is why I look like that,' he adds and light-heartedly points at his athletic figure.

Guardiola's wife wants Chelsea move not City

Chelsea are hoping the lure of a London lifestyle could be their trump card as they prepare a massive financial package to beat Manchester City to Pep Guardiola.
Roman Abramovich is refusing to give up on Guardiola - who walked away from a deal to move to Chelsea in 2012 - after he confirmed that he is leaving Bayern Munich.
City are favourites to land the 44-year-old Spaniard, but Chelsea’s billionaire owner is not only willing to make him the world’s highest paid manager but also to fund a massive overhaul of the playing staff.

He is determined to make a statement following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho - the most successful manager in Chelsea history - by landing the biggest name of all.
But they know it will not only be cash that makes the difference and they believe that Guardiola’s wife Cristina Serra has a preference to live in the capital when they leave Munich at the end of his contract with the German club.

Chelsea’s owner, who was paying Jose Mourinho £250,000 a week (£12million a year) before his dismissal last Thursday, is throwing money at Guardiola in an attempt to convince him to turn his back on Manchester City.
Guardiola has already assessed Chelsea’s squad and has indicated that the defending champions, 15th in the Premier League, will need to sign 10 new players.

However, Guardiola pulled out of the move after Di Matteo was sacked, and became Bayern boss in 2013
Abramovich, along with his advisors, were furious at the time, but relations have thawed enough for Chelsea to make a renewed attempt to capture the world’s most wanted football coach.

Chelsea know that they have lost ground on Manchester City in the race to sign Guardiola, but the decision to fire Jose Mourinho just four months into a new four year deal has prompted a rethink.

Guardiola has long been coveted by City and the relationship between City’s chief executive Ferran Soriano and director of football Txiki Begiristain is key to City’s seduction process.

The pair appointed promoted Guardiola when he was manager of Barcelona’s B in 2008 and he went on to win La Liga three times, the Champions League twice and the World Club Cup twice.
Abramovich is putting pressure on his sporting director Michael Emenalo and Marina Granovskaia, who runs the day to day operation for Chelsea’s owner, to sway Guardiola.
Some of the alternatives being discussed at a senior level are Atletico Madrid’ s coach Diego Simeone and the outsider Massimilano Allegri.

Although they are both successful coaches, they do not come with Guardiola’s cache after his remarkable success with Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri and Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone have also been discussed
He has landed the Bundesliga titles in each of his first two seasons at Bayern, but the Champions League has eluded him so far.

Although there is widespread belief that Guardiola has signed a contract to join City next season, Chelsea are undeterred.
Guardiola told Bayern two weeks ago that he was leaving and the club’s chairman Karl Heinz-Rummenigge claims he already knows his destination.
‘I think I know where he is going. But I want to leave the announcement to him or his new employer.
‘At the Christmas party two weeks ago he came to me, he told me that he was looking for a new challenge and almost apologised.
‘It was clearly difficult for him, I’m not disappointed in him.’

“He told me I will be great, and after the AFCON 2013, he asked me if I regretted playing for Nigeria, I just smiled and said ‘no’.”
inside view of his Mercedes Bus
Emenike continued: “He always showed me the right way, and I have never regretted any of his advices. This is a man who has seen a brighter future for me and he always told me, my life begins after football.
“My elder brothers and the people in the community convinced him to let me choose football. He blessed my first trip to South Africa, and today I am living in his blessings. But I am sad he’s gone!”

Emenike began a wealthy life immediately he moved to Spartak Moscow where he signed a mega deal that sees him pocket close to €2m. For every earnings of the Nigeria striker, he moved down to Nigeria to invest tremendously on properties, Emenike has over five luxurious houses in Lekki Chevron where he also has a street named after him. Emenike is indeed a bigboy in Chevron!

Shortly after he joined Fenerbahce, Emenike built a mouthwatering duplex worth N250m, with imported materials for the building of the house. The house which have over six bedrooms, Gym house, Swimming pool to mention few was rated as one of the best in Chevron.

The good thing about him is that despite his low scoring form on the pitch at a point, his worth increases, he smiles to the bank every week, his investment in Nigeria alone is profiting even faster than his initial plans.
His move to United Arab Emirates has really blossom his wealth despite revealing he didn't move for money, but Emenike is currently building eight terraces estate in Owerri worth N800m. The estate, which is understandable to be for lease on its completion, the real plan of the estate understand to be a format of an estate where Emenike bought his UK apartment, a mighty estate indeed.

Unlike many footballers, Emenike adores buying and building houses than spending so much on cars, yet, Emenike recently acquires Mercedes bus worth 250,000 euros from Turkey. The Mercedes which has four seaters facing each other, with two flat screen TV, CD deck, Refrigerator, Video game, multi functional air-condition. It’s a bus with lots of entertainment.

Apart from the Mercedes bus, Emenike is known with his Branded X6 BMW, Lambogini and 2010 Toyota Camry worth N20m with customized plate number EE29.
Emenike's secret of wealth is down to charity, atleast, he spends close to N5million on charity every year, his popularity did not stop on the pitch, he's a big name when he get to the international airport where fans, less privilege people block Emenike for help.
Estate in Owerri, under construction
Eyewitnesses recently revealed an encounter with Emenike at International airport where the 2013 top scorer helped a family with undisclosed millions of money for treatment.  Similarly, in 2014, he took a load of trailer contains bags of rice to Imo and Anambra State for distribution. No wonder Governor Okorocha pose in a photography with Emenike.
In his native home town in Imo State, Emenike built borehole for the people of the community.

The 2013 AFCON topscorer is planning to extends his properties to Dubai has plans to buy a mighty duplex worth N700m but the Super Eagles striker still on consultation process from his family member.
In the national team, Emenike remained a good example of the team when money is involve, Emenike once  showed the patriot in him when he declared that he was ready to play for Nigeria for free, saying winning a shirt to play for the national team was a greater motivation than monetary inducement.
On that very nite after Malawi game, a key player in the Eagles had rejected the $5,000 bonus when the money was taken to him. He said that “we will not collect $5,000. Our money should be $10,000.”

We gathered that tension was about to rise in the camp when one of the coaches who was expected to swiftly intervene was said to have begged officials to leave him out of the matter.
But nerves calmed when the paymaster of the team took money to Emenike and asked him if it was true that the team had rejected the $5,000 bonus for each player. Emenike was said to have frowned at that and said that they should quickly pay him whatever they had as bonus. He collected the money and said that playing for the national team was a great honour which all reasonable players must appreciate.

Next was Victor Moses who also said that they should quickly pay him what they had. Other players followed. This shamed the player who had first rejected the bonus. At this point, he also collected and the coach who had earlier asked that he be left out called a top official of the federation to announce that “the players have now agreed to take money.”
The player who first rejected the bonus was also at the centre of the bonus row that brought Nigeria international shame in Namibia. After the World Cup qualifier the Eagles rejected their bonus and said that they would not play in the Confederation Cup in Brazil. The federation had reverted to the $5,000 they paid to each player as winning bonus before the 2010 World Cup.

The increase was done by the Presidential Task Force for the World Cup. The federation reverted to their original payment without formally informing the players before the match in Kenya on June 5. The players, therefore, rejected the bonus for their victory in Kenya and the draw in Namibia. It took the intervention of President Goodluck Jonathan for the team to agree to fly to Brazil. The Presidency paid the balance.
Emenike’s patriotic action on that Saturday night led to the bandwagon effect that saved the federation another bonus row.

“Emenike saved us another bonus row. He is a great patriot. After a key player rejected our bonus and said the whole team had decided not to collect it, Emenike said that such will not happen with him and that playing for Nigeria was an honour greater than money,” a top official of the federation said yesterday even mentioning the name of the player who had plotted another revolt.

“Emenike said that whatever we pay was a token to what the players earn in Europe and that he was surprised bonus would be made an issue by some people.

On different occasions, Emenike has moved around the local area in Lagos to extends happiness to some families quietly in which many have benefited from his wealth. Notably, Emenike sent out his close friends to the likes of ghetto area like Ajegunle to visit the less privilege homes and ask them what they want to rebuild their life.

Ronaldo unhappy with fans' reaction

Cristiano Ronaldo is already enjoying the Christmas break, but he is far from happy.Thrashing Rayo Vallecano at home was not enough to put a smile back on Real Madrid's players' faces. In fact, Cristiano Ronaldo was anything but happy after the game.
The Portuguese, despite scoring twice, was angered by fans' reaction. Los Blancos's all-time top goalscorer is not one to bite his tongue and hit back at the Bernabéu faithful.

The Portuguese understands fans' anger but does not agree with how most of them are making their feelings known. Ronaldo has already said, on several occasions, that fans have to get behind the team, but that message appears to have fallen on deaf ears and their reaction during the game against cross-city rivals Rayo was especially painful.

Although short-lived, fans' reaction to Rayo's second goal was one of the harshest Cristiano has experienced as a Real Madrid player. That is why he left the stadium with a bee in his bonnet and refused to celebrate either of his goals. The club does not agree with the Bernabéu faithful booing the team but likes how Ronaldo deals with them in that kind of situation.

He may have left for his holidays in a bad mood, but his fitness is improving week upon week. The Portuguese has fully recovered from the ongoing knee problems that saw his form dip early on in the season and his goalscoring stats are slowing creeping back up. Suscripción a Marca

Barça's final challenge of the year

Luis Enrique and co. have very few challenges left to cap an almost perfect year.Aside from missing out on the Spanish Super Cup, which saw the team fall short of Pep Guardiola's perfect year, this current crop of players have one last goal to achieve before the end of 2015: beat the goalscoring record set by Real Madrid just 12 months ago.

Los Blancos racked up an impressive 178 goals over the course of 2014. 56 of which came courtesy of Cristiano Ronaldo, with Benzema adding another 28 and Bale 24.

Barça currently have 176 goals to their name, just two short of Real Madrid's record. The bulk of those goals have come from the Catalans' formidable MSN: Messi (47), Luis Suárez (46) and Neymar (41).

As things stand, the Catalans have two objectives going into the game against Betis at the Camp Nou on 30th December: seal three valuable points which would see them end 2015 at the top of the La Liga table and beat Real Madrid's goalscoring record.

Coutinho dreams trophy in 2016

Brazil midfielder Philippe Coutinho says he has a great chance of celebrating his third year at Liverpool in 2016 by landing his first major trophy with the club.

The five-time European champions are down in ninth spot in the Premier League but are through to the semifinals of the League Cup, where they face Stoke City in January, and have drawn German side Augsburg in the last 32 of the Europa League.

Liverpool also meet fourth tier Exeter City in the third round of the FA Cup next month.

"We're all focused on fighting for trophies and I think we have a great chance in the competitions we're in," Coutinho told the club's website (www.liverpoolfc.com).

"Three wonderful years. In the beginning I was given a very warm welcome from the fans, the team, everyone who works here.

"I'm very grateful to the club and now I hope to be able to help the team win trophies, it's very important to keep battling," added the 23-year-old.

Coutinho joined Liverpool, who are without a major trophy since they lifted the League Cup in 2012, from Inter Milan in January 2013 for a fee of 8.5 million pounds ($12.65 million).

He has scored four goals in nine games since Juergen Klopp took over as manager in October and, being a focal point of their attacking moves, Coutinho said his desire to improve remained strong.

"We learn little by little," said the Brazilian. "When you arrive here the football is very different, the style of play, it's more intense, you use your body more, it's faster.

"These things I think I've improved on since I arrived, as I came from a different style of football, and I hope I can continue to improve."
