Chibuike eyes ‘great 2016’ in Turkish League

Gaziantepspor attacking midfielder John Chibuike says he’s already looking towards great performance in 2016 after impressive return to action last week.

The former Enugu Rangers player  and Gbenga Arokoyo outshone fellow countryman Godfrey Oboabona when their clubs Gaziantepspor and Rizespor clashed in a Turkish Super League game at the weekend.
Arokoyo and Chibuike assisted their mates for both goals as Gaziantepspor beat Rizespor 2-0.

“I was looking to towards good return last week after seeing what my team mates have done in my absence, so it was a determined effort from me and everybody in the team,” said Chibuike.

“My performance in the game has really boosted my spirit, it shows I am 100% fit, so don’t be surprise to see more of my contribution to the team. Our position in the league is not bad and we can always push for something different from last season. And I am very confident that we will keep the winning spirit alive for the new year. As for me, I am targeting a great 2016.”

Gaziantepspor are eighth on the league table with 22 points from 16 games, while Rizespor are ninth on the league table with 21 points from 16 games.
The former Kwara United defender Arokoyo assisted Daniel Larsson for the first goal in the fifth minute, while John Chibuike assisted Orkan Cinar for the second goal in the 13th minute.

Chibuike was substituted with Demba Camara in the 87th minute, while Arokoyo lasted for 59 minutes before he gave way for Abuda.
