Sunshine Stars of Akure has reportedly rejected what it was
described as ridiculous $250,000 bid from Tunisian club Esperance in their bid
to snap up CHAN Eagles midfielder Paul Onobi.
Esperance recently penciled down the Sunshine Stars
midfielder who famously benched Chelsea star Mikel Obi in a 2018 World Cup
qualifier against Swaziland and even mandated a Nigerian agent to facilitate
the deal.
However, the Tunis club were only prepared to spend about
$250,000 for the player.
“You do not pay such amount for someone who is already
establishing himself in the Nigeria national team,” a source was quoted by africanfootball.com
“It’s far short of
the club’s valuation of the player, so there is no meeting ground.”
